This technique is also known as ‘graining’ or ‘perlage’: the gold becomes textured, with small bumps or regular incisions on its surface. To be perfectly regular and uniform, pearled gold requires a high degree of precision and expertise.

The originality of the piece is also due to the shape of the ring body. Indeed, it is a ring whose design is very high: like a crown, from which it probably takes its name, the ring rises on the finger.
