When it's love, it never varies
Description
Very beautiful Cartier Love bracelet from the 1990s in yellow gold composed of a flat bangle decorated with engraved screw patterns.
An emblematic piece from Maison Cartier, a unisex piece whose origin evokes a strong symbolism: loyalty and love. The main feature of the Love bracelet lies in its clasp mechanism which, theoretically, can only be opened by a partner, the one who keeps your love: "a physical act of commitment, which seals love and promises fidelity", as Vivienne Becker explains in Cipullo: Making Jewelry Modern (Assouline). Thus, the Love bracelet referred to a unique love which “sealed” the special relationship of two lovers.

Why did Françoise choose it?
When it was created, the Love bracelet introduced a new way of wearing pieces on the wrist. A jewel with simple and clean lines, which goes with any type of outfit for all occasions.
Beyond its iconic appearance, Françoise likes to democratize the wearing of jewelry, whether set or, as here, only in gold, offering pieces that you can wear whenever you want.
She is also not indifferent to the symbolism of this Love bracelet. Each piece of jewelry is unique and so is each story of the person who wears it. Even if it is a bestseller, this jewel will be yours.
History
It was in 1969 that the Love bracelet was designed by the Italian goldsmith Aldo Cipullo (1936-1984). The original idea would have been to lock up his memories of past relationships in a single object. While the first version was in gilded silver, the following ones were quickly available in yellow, white and pink gold, sometimes set with diamonds. The collection was enriched with rings in 1978, earrings, charms or even cufflinks.
Although there are currently open models that do not require a screwdriver, the closed bangle version illustrates great love stories. During the launch, the House of Cartier sent the bracelet to twenty-five famous couples, such as Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Nancy and Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon, and Ali MacGraw and Steve McQueen. Will you be the next one to write your story in this symbolic bracelet?

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.
Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.
Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.
Condition
Condition
Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.
We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.
Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.
