Great icon, more compact size!
Description
Gold case, elongated side brancards, railway minute track, blued hands, and winding crown adorned with a sapphire cabochon: all the signature codes of the Tank Louis Cartier are present. Instantly recognisable thanks to its iconic design, this watch has lost none of its charm, even after all these years. It is elegant and exceptionally comfortable on the wrist.
Presented here is the medium-sized model fitted with a highly practical quartz movement. It will appeal to those who appreciate slim watches that follow the natural lines of the hand.
Thanks to its white dial, it can be paired with a strap colour of one’s choosing, according to taste and season. The strap currently fitted to the watch is due to be replaced: this change is included in the price, and Françoise will be delighted to assist you in selecting your new strap. This watch comes with a gold-plated Cartier pin buckle (Cartier's after-sales service invoice).
How to wear it?
This Tank Louis Cartier is truly perfect for any occasion. A watch that is as enjoyable to wear as it is to admire. It is particularly well suited to everyday life, balancing casual ease with timeless elegance.
Why did Françoise choose it?
Because it is a watch one simply cannot help but recommend. It is an essential piece, both historically and stylistically. It is, above all, the kind of watch that one takes pleasure in passing down, a piece that combines technical mastery and aesthetics, functionality and elegance. The Tank "was brilliantly created to remain eternally contemporary." That is why we place complete trust in it.
History
The Tank watch, known as the Tank Normale, first appeared in 1917. In tribute to the heroes of the First World War, its design was inspired by the first military tanks. Five years later, the Tank Louis Cartier was created, a model very similar to the original, though with a more elongated dial and finer, more rounded brancards. Several generations followed, retaining the same signature design codes while adapting to new watchmaking technologies such as quartz movements. Numerous celebrities adopted it, including Jackie Kennedy, Lady Diana, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Yves Saint Laurent, Gary Cooper, Johnny Hallyday and Sophia Coppola, to name but a few.
