The design of the Reflet is one of those rare creations that you can recognise at first glance: a rectangular case, whose elongated impression is enhanced by the vertical godrons.

Its other major feature, and what made it revolutionary, is its invisible bracelet-clasp system. Boucheron reimagined the very concept of a clasp by integrating the bracelet directly into the case. This ingenious mechanism also allows you to change straps according to your mood. With this model, not one but four straps are included (all signed Boucheron): an articulated steel bracelet and three adjustable leather straps. This piece therefore remains perfectly faithful to the identity of the Boucheron Reflet, whose interchangeable straps adapt to every outfit, everything is in your hands… or rather, on your wrist.

This version is distinctive thanks to the four diamonds set at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o’clock on the dial.

History

The first jeweller to establish itself on Place Vendôme, Boucheron was a pioneer in many horological and jewellery innovations. Frédéric Boucheron, the brand’s founder, was among the first to champion the wristwatch as early as the mid-19th century.

The Reflet, born in 1947, was the Maison’s first major “popular” watchmaking success, at a time when Boucheron was still run by the founder’s descendants. Its instant strap-changing mechanism was a revolution for women, who could finally transform their watch into a fashion accessory to match every outfit. Édith Piaf is perhaps the most famous ambassador of Boucheron watches, she is said to have purchased more than twenty Reflet models, which she considered her lucky charms.
