Plunging back into Legend

Description

How can one mention Cartier without thinking of the Baignoire model? With elegance, sensuality and delicacy, the Cartier Baignoire evokes womanhood and the Cartier identity in one. It also illustrates the Maison’s technical capabilities in creating a mechanism that fits seamlessly into an oval case.

Rounded all-gold case, white dial, black indexes and blue hands: all the codes of the Cartier Baignoire are laid down. This model, ref. 1955, is mounted on a Cartier strap in duck blue leather, the color of which blends particularly well with the 18-carat white gold of the case. This accentuates its elegance.

This Cartier Baignoire comes with its Cartier box and its service papers within the Maison.

How to wear it?

In any circumstance, it will undoubtedly be the touch of elegance of your outfit. A refined watch with a rounded shape that would be worn more with a dressy outfit. However, it remains an everyday watch, especially in white gold, more discreet than yellow gold.

The Cartier Baignoire offers rounded lines that sit delicately on the wrist.

Why did Françoise choose it?

Because the Baignoire is an iconic watch shape from Cartier. A watch worn by many women over the years: women with a confident style, women of character, women we remember.

Françoise likes to highlight white gold watches, which are less common and more subtle on the wrist.

History

From Catherine Deneuve to Jeanne Moreau, to Romy Schneider, the Cartier Baignoire continues to charm.
Although Louis Cartier had already introduced a design of an elongated watch in the early 1900s, the iconic model we know today was born in 1958 in Cartier’s Parisian workshops. A watch with feminine and sensual lines, an innovative and creative style. A few years later, the elongated Baignoire appeared in London studios.

While the case formed of gold godrons has retained its rounded design, it has nevertheless offered some variations over the years, as has the dial, sometimes adorned with Roman numerals, sometimes Arabic numerals. An intrinsically elegant watch that transcends the years without losing its aura.

Authentication

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.

Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.

Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.

Condition

Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.

We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.

Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping

Worldwide shipping and insurance are offered for each item upon receipt of payment.

Any customs duties and local taxes, which vary depending on the country of destination, remain your responsibility.

In Paris, hand-delivery is possible by appointment, once funds have been received.

Return and refund policy

Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.

That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.

However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
