Must de Cartier: a touch of youth and originality
Description
The Cartier Must "Trinity" (ref. 2439), in silver on a silver folding clasp, presents a new, assertive look. Original and understated with its slightly iridescent dial, it can be an alternative to the more classic and simple models of gold or gold-plated pieces. Even if it has a contained diameter, the "waves" of its case give it a real presence on the wrist.
How to wear it?
While retaining the elegance inherent to the Maison Cartier, this Must is truly an everyday watch! Not one that can be worn on the beach, but one that goes just as well with a chic or casual outfit, in the city as in the country. Its contained diameter, the use of silver and its iridescent navy blue strap, signed Cartier, accentuate the elegance of the model.
Why did Françoise choose it?
Whether monochrome or decorated with geometric patterns, with or without indexes, small or large, you will always find a Must watch that matches your personality. This is why we offer models with different designs, more or less sporty. Since its case is not made of precious metal, the Must offers a great alternative to gold models. Boldness and elegance in one model.
This model, all in roundness, is quite rare, especially in such beautiful condition. It comes with its Cartier pouch.
History
The "Must de Cartier" collection was launched in 1973 by Robert Hocq and Alain-Dominique Perrin, appointed General Director of this new entity.
This creative line not only allowed Maison Cartier to expand its offering but also to propose a more accessible and offbeat range, thus democratizing the luxury sector while retaining its codes.
After lighters, pens and leather goods, it was the turn of the Must watch to make its appearance in 1976/77. The vermeil Tank was the first to make its entrance with the words "Must de Cartier" and the two "C"s on the dial. Although the first models were made with a manual movement, quartz quickly became the norm for these everyday, easy-to-wear watches.
Unlike Cartier watches in yellow gold, those in the Must line, in silver, vermeil or steel, offer a very wide variety of cases and dials. Sometimes colorful, sometimes decorated with geometric patterns, these designs give a second youth to classic models.
