Does the iconic Cartier Panthère still need an introduction? Cartier has always been a watchmaker of form and design. The bold (crazy?) challenge of combining a very square case with rounded edges and small, elongated links could only be met by the Maison. The challenge was largely successful and has been produced in solid gold, gold and steel, steel, paved, large size, small size...

This is undoubtedly the most classic with a twist Panthère: the small two-tone model, in 18-carat yellow gold and steel, mounted on a three-row gold bracelet, much rarer than the common model. This is reference 6692.

The dial is also the purest, like the first Panthères to be sold, without a date window. This small version is definitively feminine, compared to the classic size seen on both women's and men's wrists, but even more comfortable to wear than its larger sibling (is that possible?).

This watch comes with its outer box, case, and original Cartier papers dating from 1986.

How to wear it?

Watches with metal bracelets are and will always remain sporty to the eye. The strength of the Panthère lies in its simultaneously sharp and rounded lines that reduce the purely sporty impression. The fine, articulated mesh bracelet makes this Panthère ultimately elegant. The "jewel" aspect is linked to the presence of gold on the bezel and on the three-row gold bracelet.

History

The Panthère watch was launched in the festive spirit of the 1980s, when Michèle Kaouni was Creative Director at Cartier. It gets its name from the bracelet: both supple and refined, it evokes the way the feline moves, with roundness, elegance, and sensuality. At Cartier, the evocation of the panther by its coat is part of its identity. The spotted motif first appeared on another ladies' wristwatch in 1914, in onyx and diamonds.
