Like a ray of sunshine

Description

The name Riviera alone evokes sunshine, summer on the terrace, and the Côte d'Azur. This is undoubtedly why this piece was named as such. Thus, with finesse and refinement, the Riviera presented plays with the light thanks to its diamond setting on the bezel and on the baguettes that adorn the 18-carat yellow gold "grain de riz" bracelet. The attention to detail is also reflected on the sides of the case where the gold, like waves, is engraved.

A rare solar-powered model. The dial is signed "Paris," indicating that it was produced exclusively in Paris. This jewel, both a watch and a piece of jewelry, features a hand-wound mechanical movement.

To top it all off, this Cartier Riviera comes with its 1996 papers and its box.

Why did Françoise choose it?

More than a watch, this Cartier Riviera is a true gem, an impression accentuated by the size of its case. Françoise likes to demonstrate that the worlds of jewelry and watchmaking are intimately linked. This piece illustrates this perfectly.

It's undeniably very elegant. A rare jewelry watch that you won't soon see on someone else's wrist. A watch that you'll wear in the evening like a piece of jewelry, but whose style can also be offbeat during the day with jeans and a shirt. With its fine craftsmanship and details, this model avoids the "flashy" look that some overly jewelry-like watches can have.

Just look at this watch to understand Françoise's choice. A precious piece, all finesse and elegance. If it weren't so beautiful to look at, you might forget it was on your wrist. A nod to the jewelry world of Cartier.

History

The history of the Cartier Riviera is relatively unknown. It was introduced in the late 1970s, around 1977. The watch, released in two sizes at the time (30 and 26 mm), was equipped with a mechanical movement despite the quartz crisis.

Authentication

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.

Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.

Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.

Condition

Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.

We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.

Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping

Worldwide shipping and insurance are offered for each item upon receipt of payment.

Any customs duties and local taxes, which vary depending on the country of destination, remain your responsibility.

In Paris, hand-delivery is possible by appointment, once funds have been received.

Return and refund policy

Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.

That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.

However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
