The legendary Santos
Description
When we talk about Cartier watchmaking, we think about the Santos model. The first wristwatch launched by Cartier at the beginning of the 20th century, the Santos was a small revolution: a watch on the wrist, a square watch with clearly defined edges, visible studs to hold and secure the glass. An Art Deco style that never ceases to please and which is today a real must-have for any watch lover. This reference 2961 is perhaps the most sought after with its large size, its automatic movement, the second hand and the date window.
It is elegant, practical, very comfortable on the wrist thanks to its steel bracelet. A sporty and elegant watch that can be worn on both a feminine and masculine wrist.
Why did Françoise choose her?
It is an essential model in the Cartier repertoire. It is emblematic, both from a historical and stylistic point of view. A pleasant, practical and discreet piece. This Cartier Santos is truly perfect for daily wear. Its dial and the gold/steel mix goes with everything. It fits as well with a suit as it does with jeans and a t-shirt.
History
Like the Tank, the Santos is one of Cartier's legendary models. It was designed in 1904 by Louis Cartier for his aviator friend Alberto Santos-Dumont. A pioneering watch, not only for aviation but also in the history of watchmaking: it is the first men's wristwatch. In the 1980s, the range split between the Santos-Dumont, which remained faithful to the original design, and the Santos, which gained in modernity thanks to its integrated bracelet. Even today, the Cartier Santos is available in different versions, and continues to enjoy undeniable success!

Authentication
Authentication
Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.
Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.
Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.
Condition
Condition
Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.
We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.
Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.
Shipping

Return and refund policy
Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.
That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.
However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
