Curvier and more elongated = sexier
Description
Faithful to its predecessor, the Tank Américaine keeps the Tank classic codes - gold case, brancards, railway-minute scale, blue hands, cabochon on the crown - while daring a few variations. With its elongated lines, its curved shape, this watch perfectly hugs the wrist, making it almost imperceptible to wear.
The characteristics of the Tank Américaine are enhanced in this large-size automatic yellow gold version which displays the date at 6 o'clock.
How to wear it?
Elegant, refined, chic, the Tank Américaine can be worn on all occasions, day or night. From evening dresses to jeans, it will be perfect. Its black strap makes it all the more versatile. Although the dimensions of this watch make it a more masculine model, they would be quite appropriate on a woman's wrist, as the codes of watchmaking are becoming increasingly blurred.
Why did Françoise choose it?
How could Françoise not offer such a beautiful model? The Tank Américaine will never go unnoticed because it has a real presence on the wrist. Not thanks to an imposing size but on the contrary, by the refined elegance which makes it a great watch, a watch with a lot of allure, a timeless model. Already offering Tanks with quartz movements and manual winding, Françoise was delighted to be able to acquire an automatic version.
History
After launching the Tank Normale in 1917, Cartier introduced a new model four years later: the Tank Cintrée. It had a more dynamic line, a curved case and a curved shape embracing the wrist. But it retained all the characteristics of its elder, including its sapphire, a jeweler's nod. Over the many decades, the Tank has gone through many variations. The Tank Américaine was born in 1989. Resuming the profile of a Tank Cintrée, it becomes narrower, longer and arches and thickens slightly. With a little more presence on the wrist and a quartz movement, it's perfect as an everyday watch.

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.
Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.
Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.
Condition
Condition
Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.
We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.
Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.
