Curvier and more elongated = sexier
Description
Faithful to its predecessor, the Tank Américaine keeps the Tank classic codes - gold case, brancards, railway-minute scale, blue hands, cabochon on the crown - while daring a few variations. With its elongated lines, its curved shape, this watch perfectly hugs the wrist, making it almost imperceptible to wear. White gold, more discreet than yellow gold, completes the picture of the classic watch with a twist, a well-known but ultimately not so usual Tank!
How to wear it
Elegant, refined, chic, the Tank Américaine can be worn on all occasions, day and night. From evening dress to jeans / blouse, it will be perfect. Its electric blue strap gives it a little rock side that suits it perfectly.
White gold adds subtlety and discretion. From a distance or for an unaccustomed eye, it is a steel watch. But no, only you and the connoisseurs know its true material ! This refinement paradoxically takes the dressy part of gold watches down a notch, so very suitable for every outfits!
Why did Françoise choose it?
How could Françoise not offer such a beautiful model? The Tank Américaine will never go unnoticed because it has a real presence on the wrist. Not thanks to an imposing size but on the contrary, by the refined elegance which makes it a great watch, a watch with a lot of allure, a timeless model.
Françoise particularly likes white gold (and even more platinum) watches. She loves the discretion of this material, warmer for the eye than steel. She loves to be the only one knowing the preciousness of her watch. For all passers-by, this is a steel watch. Not for her! And soon, not for you...
And of course, the full set allows you to believe you are leaving Cartier place Vendôme with a new watch, for a fraction of the price!
History
After launching the Tank Normale in 1917, the Maison introduced a new model four years later: the Tank Cintrée. It had a more dynamic line, a curved case and a curved shape embracing the wrist. But it retained all the characteristics of its elder, including its sapphire, a jeweler's nod. Over the many decades, the Tank has gone through many variations. The Tank Américaine was born in 1989. Resuming the profile of a Tank Cintrée, it becomes narrower, longer and arches and thickens slightly. With a little more presence on the wrist and a quartz movement, it's perfect as an everyday watch.
Cartier very quickly integrated white precious materials into its first watches: platinum and white gold. Particularly sought after by collectors for their scarcity, Cartier white gold watches have even been the subject of an entire book: The magical Cartier white, which references them all.
