A stunning icon!
Description
Sharp brancards with rounded edges, railway minute scale, blue hands and a cabochon on the crown: all the codes of the Tank Louis Cartier are here. Immediately recognizable by its iconic design , this Tank Basculante ref. 2386 has lost none of its charm and originality. It is elegant, practical, very comfortable on the wrist thanks to its narrower dimensions than the classic model. It will appeal to those who like fairly flat, sporty and original watches! Thanks to its white dial, it can be associated with the strap color of your choice, according to tastes and seasons.
How to wear it
This Tank Basculante is really perfect in all circumstances, easy to carry thanks to its steel case. A watch that is fun to wear and look at. It is particularly suitable for everyday life, perfect for work and evening because it can be both casual and elegant. Françoise particularly likes to wear it with jeans for a casual look.
Why did Françoise choose it ?
Because it's a watch whose design was imagined in the 1930s and then long forgotten. It was time to bring this original model back to life! This is not a watch you will come across every day. An essential version of the Tank Louis, both from a historical and stylistic point of view. A piece that combines technique and aesthetics: functionality, elegance and prowess are in order. This is why we fully trust this rare model. Finally, it is a model whose back of the case, which tilts, can be engraved to become a unique piece.
History
It was in 1917 that the Tank watch, known as Normale, appeared in honor of the heroes of the First World War and whose design was inspired by the first tanks. Five years later, the Tank Louis Cartier was designed, a model very similar to the first, but with a more elongated dial and thinner, rounded shafts. Several generations follow one another, keeping the same identity codes while adapting to new watchmaking technologies such as quartz. The Tank Basculante was introduced in the 1930s, recently relaunched at Cartier.
