Description
A gold case, overflowing side stretchers, railway-shaped minute scale, blue hands and a winding crown adorned with a sapphire cabochon: all the codes of the Tank Louis Cartier are there. Immediately recognizable by its iconic design, this watch has kept of its charm. It is elegant, practical, very comfortable on the wrist.
This is the medium model that will also appeal to connoisseurs because it is a mechanichal movement model with a "Paris" dial, the secret signature Cartier indicating Parisian manufacturing. Its less common pointed cabochon and its gold-plated Cartier pin buckle contribute to the charm of the model. It will appeal to those who love flat watches, thus harmonizing with the lines of the hand. Thanks to its white dial, it can be combined with the strap color of your choice, according to tastes and seasons.
How to wear it?
This Tank Louis Cartier is truly perfect for any occasion. A watch that's a pleasure to wear and look at. It's particularly well-suited to everyday life, whether casual or elegant.
Why did Françoise choose it?
Because it's a watch we can only recommend and it's quite rare in these smaller dimensions. It's a must-have, both from a historical and stylistic point of view. A watch that will never lose its value, especially with a manual movement and a custom-made gold folding clasp. It's the ultimate watch that we enjoy passing on, a piece that combines technique and aesthetics: functionality, elegance, and prowess are essential. The Tank "was brilliantly created to remain eternally contemporary." That's why we have complete confidence in it.
History
The Tank watch appeared in 1917 under the name Normale to honor the heroes of the First World War. The name Tank is an obvious nod to the military vehicules that inspired the design. Five years later, the Tank Louis Cartier emerged. Quite similar to the first one, the Tank Louis has a more elongated case and thinner, rounded brancards (shafts). Several generations follow one another, retaining the same identity while adapting to new watchmaking technologies such as quartz. It may be the watch seen on the most celibrities' wrist throughout the years : Jackie Kennedy, Lady Diana, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Yves Saint-Laurent, Gary Cooper, Johnny Hallyday or Sophia Coppola... Will you be the next one?
