Iconic, and deeply traditional!

Description

A gold case, protruding lateral brancards, a railway-track minute scale, blued hands, and a winding crown topped with a sapphire cabochon: all the signatures of the Tank Louis Cartier are here. Instantly recognisable thanks to its iconic design, this watch has lost none of its charm. It is elegant, practical, and wonderfully comfortable on the wrist.

It will especially appeal to those who love slim watches that naturally follow the line of the hand.

With its white dial, it can be paired with the strap colour of your choice, adapting beautifully to styles and seasons.

How to wear it?

This Tank Louis Cartier truly shines in every situation. A watch that is a pleasure to wear and to admire. It suits daily life perfectly — ideal at work as well as in the evening, effortlessly shifting from casual to refined.

Why did Françoise choose it?

Because this is a watch one can recommend without hesitation. It is essential, both historically and stylistically. A watch that will never lose its value.

It is, by definition, a piece meant to be passed down with joy, a watch that unites technique and aesthetics: functionality, elegance, and craftsmanship in perfect harmony. The Tank “was brilliantly created to remain eternally contemporary.” That is why we trust it wholeheartedly.

This version may be considered the most practical thanks to its quartz movement, making it perfect for everyday wear.

History

The Tank watch first appeared in 1917, known then as the “Normale,” named in honour of the heroes of the First World War and inspired by the shape of the early military tanks. Five years later came the Tank Louis Cartier, very similar to the original, but with a more elongated dial and slimmer, softer brancards. Several generations followed, preserving the same identity codes while embracing new watchmaking technologies such as quartz.

It has been worn by countless celebrities: Jackie Kennedy, Lady Diana, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Yves Saint Laurent, Gary Cooper, Johnny Hallyday, and Sofia Coppola, to name only a few. Will you be the next?

Authentication

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.

Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.

Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.

Condition

Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.

We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.

Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping

Worldwide shipping and insurance are offered for each item upon receipt of payment.

Any customs duties and local taxes, which vary depending on the country of destination, remain your responsibility.

In Paris, hand-delivery is possible by appointment, once funds have been received.

Return and refund policy

Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.

That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.

However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
