Tank, with unique indexes!

Description

Taking up the stylistic characteristics of its solid gold predecessor, the Tank Must frees itself from the classic Tank in 2 radical ways. First of all, the use of plated gold (or silver), and not solid gold, which permits a drastically lower bill! And of course, the dial! Moving away from the traditional Roman numerals on a matte white dial, the Must line  offers incredible dials, some lacquered, with Arabic numerals, or others, like this one, with a very original horizontal index distribution!

What made the Tank successful remains unchanged, especially the size! The medium size is ideal for a feminine wrist: perfectly and discretly sat on the wrist, it is forgotten and will follow you everywhere!

Why did Françoise choose it ?

Large, medium, small, solid gold, gold plated, classic dial, colored lacquered dial, on simple or colored leather... It doesn't matter, Françoise loves the Tank, all the Tanks! If Françoise particularly appreciates colored lacquered dials, she immediately fell under the spell of this one, which brings together the best of both worlds: the contained budget of a Must, with the originality of its dial with horizontal Roman indexes. The almost severe index placement recalls the straight lines (or brancards in French) of the Tank.

The cream background is also very interesting, going from off-white to pale yellow depending on the light. The practicity of a quartz movement is always a plus !

History

The first Tank, known as Normale, imagined in 1917, gave way, in 1922, to the Tank Louis Cartier, whose design remains unchanged. Through its Must line, Cartier intends to revisit the codes of luxury by offering more accessible pieces, like Van Cleef & Arpels and its Boutique . It was not until 1976 that the Tank Must was presented, as the first gold plated watch for La Maison, then available in a wide variety of dials. It's a beautiful and bold nod to its older sister : the less funky Tank Louis.
