The Tank pop

Description

Always timeless, here is a no less original version of the Tank Solo ref. 3170, in steel and quartz movement. The little extra? This model comes with box and papers.

With its 24x31mm stainless steel case, it is a nice alternative to the Tank Louis Cartier in gold. A Tank full of originality with its mother-of-pearl dial where the Cartier logo subtly appears. An iridescent dial that you won't come across often and which offers pretty plays of light. The off-white strap, signed Cartier, completes the picture. As with many Tank Solos, it is mounted on a folding clasp. Trying the folding clasp means adopting it! In addition, the bracelet is very easily adjustable, practical.

Why did Françoise choose it?

Because it's a Tank and it offers a different version of the Louis Cartier model in gold. It boldly breaks the codes of the classic Tank while retaining the characteristics of its predecessor. Françoise likes to find these slightly crazy dials offered by Cartier. A more than welcome originality: Cartier never ceases to surprise.

This Tank Solo with a “signed” dial is the touch of originality to your outfit, always with style since it is a Cartier watch. Wear it on its clear or more colorful strap: at your convenience!

How can you not love this Cartier which knows how to play with its own codes, play with its classic history, stand out from its wise and classic gold predecessors! Limited edition for a country or a boutique? Anniversary edition? Impossible to know, but impossible for Françoise to miss it!

History

The Tank watch appeared in 1917 under the name "Normale" to honor the heroes of the First World War. The name is an obvious nod to the military vehicules that inspired the design. Five years later, the Tank Louis Cartier emerged. Quite similar to the first one, the Tank Louis has a more elongated case and thinner, rounded brancards (shafts). Several generations follow one another, retaining the same identity while adapting to new watchmaking technologies such as quartz. The steel Solo model appeared in the 2000s. It may be the watch seen on the most celibrities' wrist throughout the years: Jackie Kennedy, Lady Diana, Alain Delon, Catherine Deneuve, Yves Saint-Laurent, Gary Cooper, Johnny Hallyday or Sophia Coppola...  Are you next?

Authentication

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.

Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.

Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.

Condition

Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.

We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.

Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping

Worldwide shipping and insurance are offered for each item upon receipt of payment.

Any customs duties and local taxes, which vary depending on the country of destination, remain your responsibility.

In Paris, hand-delivery is possible by appointment, once funds have been received.

Return and refund policy

Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.

That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.

However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
