Vendôme: a rendezvous at the heart of creation
Description
The Vendôme from Cartier? As elegant and timeless as the Place! The very round, almost uninterrupted case recalls the simplest watch form. The strap, connected to the case by delicate horizontal attachments, seems to barely hold the watch. And, of course, a religious respect for Cartier codes: a minute track in a railway style, blued hands, and a winding crown adorned with a sapphire cabochon. Absolute finesse!
How to wear it
Thanks to its white dial and very slim case, it can be paired with a strap color of your choice, according to taste and the seasons. This Cartier Vendôme is truly perfect in all circumstances. Neither too elegant nor too casual, it is particularly suitable for everyday life, perfect for both work and an evening out.
With a diameter of 30 mm, it is a watch for men and women. It is a fine alternative to models with cases that are sometimes too massive and imposing on the wrist.
Why did Françoise choose it?
Just like the Place of the same name, the Cartier Vendôme evokes luxury and its subtlety. A discreet model with fine lines. This is why we trust it completely. The Vendôme also allows us to offer a round-dial model, which is relatively rare at Cartier, known for its "shaped" watches. A dial that nonetheless retains all the Cartier's codes.
History
As early as 1934, Louis Cartier patented a new way to attach leather straps: on either side, a horizontal bar would insert into a central loop fixed to the case.
The Cartier Vendôme was introduced around 1973 in homage to the eponymous Parisian Place, a meeting place for jewelers and watchmakers. The two attachments would evoke the two streets leading to Place Vendôme: rue de la Paix and rue de Castiglione.
