Vendôme: a meeting at the heart of creation

Description

The Vendôme de Cartier? As elegant and timeless as the Place! The very round, almost uninterrupted case recalls the simplest watch form. The bracelet, connected to the case by thin horizontal attachments, seems barely to hold the watch. And of course, a religious respect for the Cartier codes: railway minute scale, blued hands and winding crown adorned with a sapphire cabochon. Absolute finesse!

Its gold-plated Must version offers this watch two qualities: of course, a more contained budget than its big sister in solid gold, but above all, it breaks the classicism of Cartier dials. Large size, superb champagne color, elegant bracelet matching the dial, it offers a beautiful presence on the wrist while remaining very thin and comfortable.

How to wear it?

This Cartier Vendôme is truly perfect in all circumstances. Neither too elegant nor too casual, it is particularly suitable for everyday life. A real city dweller! Thanks to its champagne dial, it is a nice alternative to the classic Vendôme in yellow gold that you will only find with a white dial. A shade that also blends very easily with various colors of leather.

Why did Françoise choose it?

Just like the Place of the same name, the Cartier Vendôme evokes luxury and subtlety. A discreet model with fine lines. That's why Françoise trust it completely. The round dial is not very common at Cartier, known for its "shaped" watches.

This version with a champagne dial is not very common on the wrists that Françoise sees in Paris. In addition, its 30 mm diameter makes it a unisex model!

History

As early as 1934, Louis Cartier patented a new way of attaching leather straps: on either side, a horizontal bar was inserted into a sort of central loop attached to the case.

The Cartier Vendôme was introduced around 1973 as a tribute to the eponymous Parisian square, a meeting place for jewellers and watchmakers. The two lugs evoke the two streets leading to Place Vendôme: rue de la Paix and rue de Castiglione.

In the same years, Cartier launched its Must range to bring more attractive prices for the house's iconic designs.

Authentication

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.

Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.

Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.

Condition

Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.

We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.

Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping

Worldwide shipping and insurance are offered for each item upon receipt of payment.

Any customs duties and local taxes, which vary depending on the country of destination, remain your responsibility.

In Paris, hand-delivery is possible by appointment, once funds have been received.

Return and refund policy

Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.

That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.

However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
