Vendôme: a meeting at the heart of creation

Description

The Vendôme by Cartier? As elegant and timeless as the Place itself. Its perfectly round, almost uninterrupted case recalls the most classic form of watch design. The strap, attached to the case by fine horizontal lugs, seems barely to hold the watch in place. And of course, there is a reverent respect for Cartier’s signature codes: a railway minute track, blued hands, and a winding crown set with a sapphire cabochon. Absolute refinement!

The watch is fitted with its Cartier-signed burgundy alligator strap, paired with a gold-plated Cartier pin buckle.

How to wear it?

Thanks to its white dial and very slim case, it can be paired with a strap colour of your choice, depending on taste and season. This Cartier Vendôme is truly perfect for any occasion. Neither too formal nor too casual, it is particularly well suited to everyday life, ideal for both work and evening wear.

Why did Françoise choose it?

Much like the Place after which it is named, the Cartier Vendôme evokes luxury and subtlety. It is a discreet model with refined lines, which is why we place complete trust in it. The Vendôme also offers a round dial model, relatively uncommon for Cartier, a Maison known for its shaped watches, while still preserving all of the brand’s signature codes.

With a 30 mm diameter, it is a unisex watch, equally at ease on a man’s or a woman’s wrist. It is an elegant alternative to models whose cases can sometimes be overly large and imposing.

History

As early as 1934, Louis Cartier patented a new way of attaching leather straps: on either side, a horizontal bar would slot into a central loop fixed to the case.

The Cartier Vendôme was introduced around 1973 in homage to the Parisian square of the same name, a meeting place for jewellers and watchmakers. The two lugs are said to evoke the two streets leading to Place Vendôme: Rue de la Paix and Rue de Castiglione.

Authentication

Every piece undergoes a two-step expert review before joining our selection.

Françoise and her team, collectors and horology enthusiasts for many years, examine it first.

Our partner watchmakers, with whom we work closely, then carry out the technical authentication.

Condition

Our photographs are true to life: taken in-house with a macro lens, they capture every detail of a piece with precision — including marks or scratches that may be less visible to the naked eye.

We never retouch a watch's condition; only the brightness of the photograph may be adjusted.

Serial numbers are removed from photographs to protect the authenticity of each piece.

Shipping

Worldwide shipping and insurance are offered for each item upon receipt of payment.

Any customs duties and local taxes, which vary depending on the country of destination, remain your responsibility.

In Paris, hand-delivery is possible by appointment, once funds have been received.

Return and refund policy

Despite photos and descriptions that we hope are as accurate as possible, we know that the relationship with a piece of jewelry, a watch, is above all physical.

That's why we offer a 14-day return period, no questions asked, with a refund within 5 days of receiving the watch.

However, the watch must be in an aesthetic and mechanical condition similar to when it was sent.
