The name Air King comes from the exploits of English pilots during World War II; in their honor, a sporty and reliable collection is launched. The reference 5500 would cement the success of the line, remaining in production for 37 consecutive years, because it defined what a Rolex should be: practical – automatic and waterproof – and effortlessly beautiful with classic dials. The reference 14000 is in this respect the worthy heir of the 5500, the discreet icon which contributed to making Rolex the king of watchmakers.
